7/20 - 8/14

This is an opportunity for students to begin school four weeks earlier with their 20-21 teachers.  The teachers will review student data from i-Ready to establish baseline learning goals and look closely at each student's areas of strengths and weaknesses.  They will use tools for instruction from i-Ready to help students gain concepts and skills in math and reading that they may have lost due to this unprecedented time.

Salem CLC

On site for Physical Therapy

7/14 - 7/31

Students with the most significant disabilities are invited to participate in ESY in order to maintain skills over the summer.  Teachers will provide lessons in the online environment for designated IEP goals as determined by the IEP team.  Lessons will be provided online for academics (reading and math), speech therapy, and occupational therapy.  In addition, students who require physical therapy will attend on-site at Sam Salem two days a week for a 30 minute session of physical therapy because physical therapy requires physical manipulation and therapists are unable to provide this service virtually.

i-Ready Summer Intervention/Enrichment

Students entering grades 1-6

Fall 2020

All

Virtual

6/15 - 8/14

This program allows students to continue with their connected learning pathway for math and reading after the school year is over.  The students will have their own  personalized pathway to engage in math and reading for 45 minutes weekly.  There will be teachers assigned to monitor their progress and intervene when students need assistance to help them stay on track.

Summer Connected Learning Challenge

Students entering grades 1-12

Fall 2020

All

Virtual

6/15 - 8/14

This program allows students to connect with essential experiences through reading challenges. Students will have the opportunity to take these reading challenges as many times as they would like with new challenges released every two weeks. Students are also encouraged to demonstrate their 4C’s (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity) as they take the virtual Makerspace challenges that will also be posted every two weeks. Students will share videos and/or pictures of their challenges along with descriptions of how the challenge was solved.

In-coming Kindergarten students, Fall 2020

All Schools

Virtual

July- August

This program allows students to connect with essential experiences through short virtual lessons. Students will have the opportunity to complete these pre- kindergarten lessons at their own pace and as many times as they would like.  The goal of Get Read for School is to help prepare these students to enter the classroom day one of kindergarten ready to learn.  Lessons will include math, science, literacy, social emotional and basic classroom functions such as lining up, fire drills and how to walk to school safely.

The program would like the school to consider adding other lessons or introduction videos for the students, such a Chromebook 101 for parents, a welcome video from the superintendent or principals, other lessons from teachers, etc.
