The 6th grade boys basketball team defeated Bridges Learning Center 16 to 2  on Saturday March, 7th 2020 at Jennings CLC.  They are participating in the Youth Empowerment League which focuses on developing student athletes.  This is an instructional league where many students are first year players.  The focus is on improving academics, behaviors, and attitudes as well as teaching the fundamentals of organized basketball.  The following 6th grade boys are on the team: Markus Brown, Kaylen Price, Rod'Rico Stamps, Da'Marris Christian, Lamarion Brown, J'Den Johnson, Deilen Sommerville, Xavier Harmon, Noor Alihilali, Josiyah Wells, Tarell Robinson and Da'Shawn Whitlow.  The 6th grade girls basketball team participated in the same league in the fall and finished with a 2 and 2 record. The purpose of the Youth Empowerment League is to focus on each participant's leadership and academic skills. The following 5th and 6th grade girls on the team were Addy Starcher, Hayla Kenna, Qui'Ayzia Jones, Divine Carter, Meia Kenna, Madisyn Reynolds, Rachel Jean- Baptise, Journey Taylor, Izabel Phillips, La'Niyah Owens, and Trenee Farrey.  Please continue to support the hard working student athletes from Barber CLC and good luck to the boys on the rest of their season.
