Cynthia Bowers-Martin is Mrs. Ohio and is working to inspire young people with her new book, "I Don't Like Me, I Love Me!" This book promotes self-esteem and self-love. Cynthia Bowers-Martin will be visiting with students throughout the week to share her story, and each student will receive a signed copy of her book.

Mrs. Eggeman's and Mrs. Marksberry's fourth-grade classrooms have joined forces to write and perform the reader's theatre performance of Pacho Nacho. The performance with take place in the cafeteria on Monday, May 23rd at 1:00 p.m.

Friday, May 27th is the day for Recognition Assemblies for grades 1 - 5. These award assemblies will be held virtually and links will be posted on your students' Google Classrooms.

Each student in the school was given a brand new hardcover picture book. Students and families design circle art to share an important message they learned from their story. Join us for dinner, a great book, and an art project as we celebrate our March Book Madness Winner on Thursday, May 12th from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

We had a wonderful turnout for Ladies' Night at Barber. Moms shared positive strategies to support their children, and we had a wonderful guest speaker.

Meet and socialize with other parents. Delicious Dinner with a Surprise Guest who will suggest ways to strengthen parental skills. Discover commonalities with other parents and ways to support one another.

Mr. Terrance Shelton has worked in the community for many years and specifically at Barber CLC as a climate coach. Mr. Shelton worked with students to help them take ownership of behavior, reset, and restore relationships in the classrooms after incidents. After many years of service, Mr. Shelton is leaving the Barber CLC team to continue his work in other areas. Thank you, Mr. Shelton! We will miss you.

All the Way to the Top is the clear winner this year. This is a true story about young Jennifer, a brave girl with a disability. She did not let that stop her from achieving great things or fighting for her rights and for others too. This story inspired all of us to be courageous.

This is a take on the popular March Madness bracket for basketball. Sixteen incredible, diverse, and inspiring picture books are placed on a bracket. Each day teachers will read books to students, and then students vote to see which book they like the most in the bracket. The favorite books in the school will advance until we reach the FINAL 4!

Without a doubt, our students have grown a lot this year! Today is the 100th Day of school and these kindergarteners have REALLY grown! Some even have gray hair! Check us out!

Barber CLC celebrates students with amazing attendance. We know that in order to be successful, we must work on the daily habit of good attendance. We are also celebrating students on the honor roll.

We welcomed new teachers and a tutor to Barber CLC last year during our remote year. This year we also welcome a new dean of students. Meet our new staff members.
