Welcome Ms. Gloria Terry
Barber CLC welcomes Ms. Gloria A. Terry to the part-time position of Family Liaison at Barber CLC. Ms. Terry is a graduate of Hiram College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and minored in Business Marketing. She also has taken graduate courses in Christian Ministries, Women’s Leadership, is a certified Grief Recovery Specialist and currently completing certification as a Mental Health Coach. As Director and Founder of Grace Academy of Small Wonders (GAOSW), Ms. Terry is not at all new to Barber. Her faith-based, extra curriculum prevention and intervention nonprofit program is where Ms. Terry works with elementary girls on character, spiritual awareness, social skills, and etiquette. She has been presenting the program at Barber CLC during the lunch hour mentoring 3rd and 5th grade girls for the past 3 years.
As an advocate of both women and children, Ms. Terry, over the years, has brought many educational workshops to the surrounding community. Her objective is to raise awareness and stoppage of domestic abuse and violence against women and the sexual abuse of children to establish tools for prevention and healing. She is nearing the process of completing her first book, “You Can Live Through It: The Light that Dispels the Darkness of Depression,” scheduled to be published and released later this year. Ms. Terry sees the position of Family Liaison as strategic to her efforts already engaged at Barber CLC. She is elated to be working more closely with parents, all students, and faculty for the welfare of families and children.
