As Governor Mike DeWine has now moved any possible reopening date for our schools to Monday, May 4, there is a possibility that our schools may not reopen this school year.
In any eventuality, we are prepared to continue our students' education with APS Connected Learning, our online curriculum, for as long as necessary. We will continue to feed children as well so we can continue to provide nearly as much for our students when they are working from home as we do when they are in our classrooms.
Families and students have contact information for any questions our teachers need to address; we encourage students, parents and guardians to let us know if they are in need of any assistance in adjusting to APS Connected Learning.
While many of our staff members are working from home, we are available to assist by phone or email. And akronschools.com has the latest information you may need.
We know this is challenging for everyone, and it is a big change for our students. Akron Public Schools greatly appreciates your involvement in our students' education always, and especially during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
David W. James, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
