Trip to Goodyear for STEM is a Big Deal!

APS wishes to thank the APS Career Day Team for coordinating and/or chaperoning the Goodyear STEM Career Day Grades 6-8 Saturday, May 4, at Firestone CLC. Please click here for photos from the event. Below are the details from the event.

13 Ellet students from the Culinary Pathway prepared meals for 1,100 attendees (Rebecca Hixon).
At the event, students received Goodyear T-shirts and Goodyear drawstring bags. Students began the day at the Infofair where they had mini hands-on sessions with STEM professionals from local businesses. Businesses also provided students with fun STEM bag stuffers. Next, students had a video presentation facilitated by Chris Helsel, Goodyear Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. The presentation previewed the future of autonomous cars, autonomous flying cars, autonomous wheel-less cars and eco-friendly tires. For the remainder of the day, students rotated through five interactive 40-minute group hands-on activities facilitated by STEM professionals from the companies below. Lunch was provided. The meal was prepared and served by students from the Ellet Culinary Pathway.
