Cong. Tim Ryan Joins Firestone News Conference

Rite Aid Foundation launched a new Prescription Drug Safety initiative in Akron-area high school. The free initiative is a digital course about prescription drug abuse prevention, developed by EVERFI. Representatives of the Rite Aid Foundation, Congressman Tim Ryan and APS announced the launch during a press conference and demonstration at Firestone CLC. APS is implementing the six-lesson online program as part of the health education program, and Firestone CLC is the first Akron-area school to integrate the program into its curriculum. The program uses interactive scenarios and self-guided activities to teach students facts about drugs, how to properly use and dispose of them, and how to step in when faced with a situation involving misuse.
